OGSystems to Sponsor 48-Hour Hackathon Competition

OGSystems (OGS), a leading provider of IT and business solutions to federal government and commercial business, today announced its sponsorship and participation in the GlobalHack II competition, being held Aug. 22-24 in St. Louis, MO. The GlobalHack organization was launched with the goal of attracting top talent, developing more products and services, and creating awareness in the St. Louis technology scene. GlobalHack II will build on the success of its first Hackathon in St. Louis, which encompassed 200 participants from five states.

During the 48-hour GlobalHack competition, small teams (one to 10 members) of developers, designers and entrepreneurs are assigned a specific real-world scenario and will collaborate to create an application that solves that problem. The winning team will take home the $50,000 prize and the opportunity to develop professional networks.

OGSystems’ desire is to foster innovation through its VIPER Labs, an idea-to-platform center used to take ideas and bring them into demonstrated reality. Through its sponsorship of GlobalHack, OGS furthers its commitment to rapidly evolving technologies, emerging talent and an entrepreneurial culture.

“Our growth rate and customer appreciation has been based on one thing – the ability to innovate and deliver solutions more quickly than our larger competitors,” said Garrett Pagon, President of OGSystems. “This competition perfectly fits our ‘agility first, ship and deliver’ mindset, and we are excited to see what the contestants can do to solve a national security challenge.”

OGSystems executive and senior technical partners will be on hand to meet with competitors and judge the final submissions.
